Preserving Cultural Heritage

The aim of this project is to maintain Morelia's historic downtown area which was declared world heritage by UNESCO. Morelia is a beautiful colonial city built in “pink stone” which is hightened by the lovley weather. Over the past 6 years volunteers have helped carry out a range of restoration activities and workshops to raise awareness about the importance to preserving World Cultural Heritage. In 2011 volunteers will continue to help preserve all its splendor and beauty together with groups of local volunteers.

Global Warming Camp

Volunteers will participate in activities inside a University in Morelia alongside local volunteers to help promote better uses of water, ecological awareness and preventing global warming. Volunteers will help to install a system for saving water in the university, restoration work to make the University green areas attractive and delivering ecological messages at the campus. Volunteers will also participate in workshops with local students about actions to prevent global warming and exchange ideas and good practices of different countries.
