Doune the Rabbit Hole is an intimate, independent music & arts festival located amidst the glorious ancient oak trees of the Cardross Estate, near Scotland’s only lake, Lake of Menteith, in Stirlingshire. We started life in 2010, at a site near the town of Doune (hence the name!) and for the last 6 years have been celebrating the very best of Scotland’s independent/DIY arts scene alongside amazing international guests.
We’ve been honoured to host an extraordinary array of music, art, theatre and spoken word over the years, and 2015 is set to provide more of the same! Along with the pick of Scotland’s musical talent there’ll be workshops for kids and adults, arts, craft producers, and delicious local food and drink suppliers.
Our international volunteers will work to set up and break down the festival site. This will involve both constructing the various stands, tents and physical infrastructure of the site, but also more decorative tasks to give the site an amazing look and feel. It will not involve litter picking. On the first day you’ll be building your own showers and the Yurts where you will be sleeping.
They will not work during the festival itself, so they can enjoy the entire programme. This means that your weekend off will be one amazing big 3 day party, but that after it when a lot of other people are going home volunteers are going to need to keep on working. We brought already a group of volunteers last year to collaborate on this project. From Finland to Spain, they were fantastic and became a really good team in a very short amount of time. Here you can check some of the pictures from 2015.
