Xchange Scotland is a charity based in Glasgow focused on promoting international and local volunteering for young people and non-formal education. We are currently looking to appoint up to 3 new individuals to join our Board. We are interested in appointing people who can add to the skills mix of our current board members and who are passionate about intercultural learning and non-formal education.
We are committed to making positive change in society and are passionate about providing opportunities for global citizenship and local and international volunteering for young people from both Scotland and abroad. We are seeking new board members to get involved in the management, oversight and growth of our organisation.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable management experience by joining our motivated team, navigating the challenges of running a small organisation with big ideas. Our board meets one evening on a monthly basis and all out of pocket expenses are reimbursed. You should be in a position to commit to monthly board meetings and have time to support the oversight and development of our organisation.
We are particularly interested in people with the experience of applying to national, European (Erasmus+) and international funding streams. We would also welcome applications from individuals who have project management or financial management/accountancy experience.
Board members also have the opportunity to participate in fully funded international training courses, conferences and meetings, to get involved in our inspiring community-based international projects and the chance to work with a committed and engaged network of volunteers and young people.
To apply, please email your CV, Expression of Interest Letter with information about why you are interested and what you can offer to Xchange Scotland (no more than one page of A4) and contact details of 2 references to email@example.com by 23rd February 2018.
Xchange Scotland’s AGM will take place on 28th February 2018 in the Albany Learning Centre (GCVS), 44 Ashley St, Glasgow, G3 6DS, when the successful candidates will be officially elected to the board. All candidates are expected to attend, however, if you are unable to do so, but still wish to apply, please highlight this information on your application.
Thank you for your interest, we are looking forward to hearing from you.
