This is the 3rd year this project is organized at the Turtle Camp Sirenito Macho in Marquelia Town, one of the goals of this project is to create awareness within the local population, at national and international level, about the importance of the preservation,protection and rescue of the population of marine turtles in the Mexican coastal line. Volunteers will carry out different tasks to help to preserve two different kinds of marine turtles (Lepidochelys Olivacea and Dermochelys Coracea) by collecting the eggs that the females lay and putting them into a yard at the turtles' camping area. They will also take care of the baby turtles, helping to release and lead them safely back to the ocean. They will also help to collect statistical data and patrol the zone where the turtles nest at night. They will have, finally, the opportunity of contribute to cleaning the beach. Volunteers will also take part in workshops in the local schools to promote the awareness about protecting the life of the turtles to ensure their survival in the future and teach children and new generations about the importance of the local environment.

Volunteers will be lodged in big tents in the turtle's camping with all facilities provided (kitchen, bathrooms,shower), there are no beds please bring a sleeping bag and roll mat.
Terminal:
The closest international airport is located at Acapulco City, but you can also arrive in Mexico City Airport.
Special Requirments:
Volunteers should bring a sleeping bag and a roll matt. The official language of the project is English, however some Spanish would be appreicated.
