Greek Youth Exchange - 20-29th August 2008
Xchange Scotland have received approval for an Environmental Youth Exchange in Greece from the 20-29th August. The project will bring together 50 young people from Greece, Portugal, Turkey, Italy and Scotland with the aim of promoting European citizenship and environmental volunteering.
The project will be called CINFEL - which stands for the Coastal Initiative for Non-Formal Environmental Learning.
The main focus will be on the coastal environment. The project will involve workshops, sports and cultural activities at the beach, visits to sites of environmental interest (such as the holy Mount Athos region and Stagira, the birthplace of Aristotle), showing of films and documentaries with a relevant theme and finally, an awareness-raising campaign to the general public.
In preparation for the project, the group have so far put on a fundraising pub quiz and made a short film. Thanks to all who came along to the quiz - and we will put the film we made up here soon.
