We have a really unique volunteering opportunity available through Xchange Scotland, which will involve travel in Asia this summer.
The main tasks of this voluntary post are:- Attending an international training of trainers course in Mongolia in July
- Establishing links with existing organisations which work with the Chinese community in Glasgow
- Actively promoting international volunteering to the Chinese community
- Taking the lead on an existing project, which aims to promote both volunteering and non-formal education as a means to employment. This will include the promotion of and participation in future events
- A knowledge of the Chinese community in Glasgow is desirable, but not essential
- The applicant should also we willing to travel to two events due to take place in Summer 2012 in South-East Asia, which will last at least a month combined
- An enthusiasm for community work and travelling is required
- Experience in promotion is expected.
- This post will commence in June 2012 and will last until the end of November. A minimum of 4 hours per week work is expected.
